Spyware
Spyware is a general term for software that installs itself on your machine without
you wanting or often needing it. The term is often used to cover all types of installed software
such as adware, spyware, and malware. The differences are minimal and not really important for most
users.
Is someone tracking your every online move? Do you have key loggers, remote-control
programs, browser hijackers - hiding on your system attempting to steal your
identity, snatch passwords or monitor browsing activity when you surf or shop ?
You can reduce the risk of having your machine infested with dozens of extra tasks
by following these simple tasks:
- Run at least one spyware eradication program AT LEAST once a week.
- Ensure you update these programs before you run them every time.
- Consider running a background real-time monitor to detect spyware before it installs.
- Read ALL User agreements BEFORE you install software, these often contain information on the
types of extra software (often spyware) that will be installed.
There are many spyware eradication programs available. Some are free, some can be purchased from
companies. If you are going to purchase a solution, we recommend McAfee Spyware and have teamed with McAfee
to provide you with a special discount. If you want a free solution may we also suggest you try one of
